Al Jaddaf 5-Star Heritage Hotel
Situated in the upcoming new area that once home to the dry-docks in Dubai, the site for the proposed hotel is a prime corner location. Addressing the importance of the corner location, a grand arch announces the hotel entrance flanked by the vehicle drop/ valet, and guests on foot – all are received by a colonnaded walkway that leads to the hotel entrance and reception

Occupying 90,000 sq. ft (9,000 sq. metres) this 10 storey building houses all the guest facilities including the guest check-in, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and the Spa on the ground and mezzanine levels. The building style is traditional (at the request of the client) of which the massing is designed to break down the 10 storey building into a more human scale as it descends toe the hotel entrance and the street level. The footprint of the first two floors occupies almost the entire site and stretched along the perimeter of the corner site, thus connecting with the passer-by, and encouraging guests and visitors alike to come in and explore. The roof of this base structure provides recreation and garden spaces for the hotel guests and visitors.

All of the hotel rooms are occupied in the seven of the 8-storeys above that all follow the traditional architectural style, above which the suites are situated in a contemporary steel structure that reminisces the modern additions to historic buildings across major capital cities of Europe, and helps to break down the massing of the building further.
