Pole Pole Clifftop Resort Villas
Designed as part of the Pole Pole Clifftop Hotel Resort development, the villas are inspired by the historical coastal houses of Lamu Island close to Mombasa in Kenya.
While, encapsulating their methodology of capturing the natural sea-breezes for the conform of the inhabitants, the architectural style of the villas is contemporary and clean with large open plan spaces with careful positioning of openings to encourage cross ventilation.
Large spans of glazing maximise views from the dramatic clifftop location protected from the sun by large wooden ‘pergolas’ that also provide privacy to occupants relaxing on the decking.
The roof terrace has frameless glass balustrades that erode the edge between the occupants and the horizon, while shaded and naturally cooled by a traditional thatched roof that made of locally sourced materials.
Each villa has an infinity-edged swimming pool for the enjoyment of the guest; the infinity edge adding extra drama to the view and experience of swimming at this Clifftop location.
